Curriculum for 11 to 14 year olds

Language Development

The curriculum of the junior youth program consists of stories containing meaningful exercises, activities, and community projects within a participatory environment that help junior youth develop their critical thinking and their ability to express their ideas.

Academic Excellence

In addition to what they study, junior youth also receive practical support and encouragement from their youth tutors to help them excel in their academic studies. Homework help and after-school tutoring are natural extensions of the program.

Community Involvement

A core tenet of the program is helping junior youth develop their talents and abilities by helping the community. Junior youth often consult, plan, and execute community projects, which help them develop an understanding of community issues and become agents of change.

Moral Decision Making

The content of the curriculum reinforces within junior youth a moral structure that will underline their decisions and guide their actions as they mature into young adults and responsible members of society.

Enhance what your child is learning at school

The curriculum of the junior youth program consists of textbooks at three levels of study for the following age groups: 11–12 year olds, 12–13 year olds, and 13– 14 year olds. Each level will have texts in the areas of language, mathematics and science, as well as those focused on navigating present-day society. It is hoped that, in its entirety, the series will provide young people with the elements of a conceptual framework that will guide their choices and actions as they mature into adults.

October 2019

The junior youth program has helped my son in many ways. He’s excited to attend every week because of the friendships he’s formed. As a parent, I’m happy he’s in an environment where he is learning to express his ideas about the world.
